Correct installation is imperative for Monimoto to work properly. The good news is that it is very easy to achieve this if you follow these three rules:

  1. Thinner end (one that has GPS letters on it) must be pointing upward or outwards, rather than inwards or to the ground.
  2. Make sure that the Monimoto end with the letters GPS does not touch any metal parts of your bike.
  3. Never put Monimoto in an enclosed metal environment, as radio waves cannot travel through metal.
  4. Hide it properly so that thieves do not detect it.

Tip:  If you keep the vehicle close to your house, less than 50 meters away (160 ft) - make sure that the KEY FOB and the device does not retain the connection between each other. If they do - alarm will not start until the bike is taken away, out of the KEY FOB & device reception zone.  If your bike is kept outside and the KEY FOB is inside, the reception zone can vary from few meters to 30 meters (100 ft), depending on the walls and other concrete objects. Only in rare occasions can the KEY FOB connect to Monimoto device at more than 15 meters (50 ft) distance, as walls or windows limit the radio signal significantly.

How to test? Leave the KEY FOB at home where you usually keep it. Go to your bike and connect with the app from the "Settings" tab. Find "Keys" menu and check if the KEY FOB shows any signal. Refresh by swiping down if needed.

If the connection is still present - we suggest that you find a different place at home to keep your KEY FOB or simply place the KEY FOB in some metal box.
